Refugee Services LSSM

Lutheran Social Services of Michigan [LSSM] is the largest private refugee resettlement agency in the state. Our four locations have helped resettle thousands fo refugees since the mid 1970s. Here in Grand Rapids, we are currently resettleing an average of eight new families a month.  This amounts to approximately 300 people over the course of a year!

As an agency, the main focus of our program is to help new refugees become self-sufficient-economically and communaly-within six months of their arrival to the greater Grand Rapids area. This is a high calling and we benefit greatly from the support of churches and individuals like you!

Please consider joining us in this incredible mission to care for "the strangers who sojourn among us" [Lev. 19:34]  Take a moment to browse our site for more information or contact Troy Howley, Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator at thowl@lssm.org or 616.356.1934.
